Cloud version: Anyone able to create an email field that invokes email application?

Cloud version: no back in access no extensions allowed, anyone find a way to do this?
Have a client converting Leads to Opp and needs the email address (and phone) to follow but there is nowhere to land

Isn`t Advanced Pack not included in the Cloud Version? If so, does it not work there somehow?
      If not, what about self-hosting?

You have already asked something similar for Phone type fields. Unfortunately, for the Espo Cloud, only a workaround https://forum.espocrm.com/forum/gene...729#post123729 is possible.

Or you need to create (during Convert process) not only an Opportunity, but also a Contact from the Lead.
        - The created Opportunity will be automatically related with the Lead and Contact (screenshot 1).
        - In Administration > Entity Manager > Opportunity > Layouts > Bottom Panels add Contacts.
        - In Administration > Entity Manager > Contact > Layouts > List (Small) add Email and Phone fields (screenshot 2).
        - This way you can create emails and make calls without unnecessary clicks (described in the workaround at the link above), simply by clicking on the Email or Phone fields of the created contact (screenshot 3).

shalmaxb Yes Adv Pack comes with Cloud, but there is no ability of a field type "email" for Lead module so there is one place to on conversion

I understand the process though, all Contact info has its own place, possible uses with Invoice SO etc however they only track name ph email address (loan application) so Client doesnt want to use Contact or Account

It's a "one sheet" process in Opp that seems to be how they work, esp financials and reporting, they dont want to create/maintain/switch to extra records for every lead

So it just their use case - I always mention there is give and take with a new system, try to mold processes around the software where you can -

I will see if I can demo an option that is agreeable, maybe using small list view so what they need is accessed quickly and it shows up… making sure they have little/nothing to maintain on the Contact records...

victor Thanks for the screen shots

Thanks for confirming there is really no way w/o contacts

The limitation is that the Email field is designed the way is can be only one per entity type. It's enabled only for Company and Person custom entity types. The most clean way from the application point of view would be to have a custom entity to store the email field. This custom entity could be related to the needed entity type (for example Opportunity). A foreign field for that email field can be then added to that entity type. It will clickable.

Thanks so much yuri, that helps me think through and also explain to the client - I was able to help them see the benefit of using Contacts but the reverted back to having everything on the same page and will use the Contacts bottom panel for external connections - appreciate the elaboration!

The UI for email address saving can be achieved with a regular Varchar field. A workflow rule with a formula can handle storing the entered email address in a linked entity.
