Just posting, because I have the same limitation with LDAP authentification enabled.

I can create manually a new "regular" user, but the authentification process won't work when he tries to login.
But I can create a new "admin" and auth will work.

So yeah, I can't give temporary regular access to someone outside the LDAP directory.
It's a good security feature though.

    Hi Blockhouse_IT,

The enabled LDAP authorization in EspoCRM applies to absolutely all users (optionally also to portal users). That is, you can either check the Create User in EspoCRM option in Administration > Authentication > LDAP, and the user will be created automatically, or create it on the LDAP server itself and try to log in with its credentials in the EspoCRM instance.

    Basic User With LDAP

Hello, we currently have a VIP user who has requested a secondary profile under an "alias" for when dealing with specific accounts of his. We currently use LDAP for authentication so we are unable to make just a basic account.

I was looking around online and seeing people who turned LDAP off made the basic account and then turned it back on and they seemed to have varying layers of success.

So my question is: is there a way to make a basic user account while having LDAP enabled or would the path of least resistance be just make a windows profile for them and make the account that way?

Maybe i'm over thinking this but figured i'd ask.

    Thank you!
