    Question About Auto-Follow Behavior

    Hi everyone,

    I’m unsure whether this is a misconfiguration or a bug related to followers. Here’s the situation:
    1. Settings:
    2. Observed Behavior:
      • When I create an Opportunity/Task/Lead without an Assigned User, I do not automatically become a follower.
      • When I create an Opportunity/Task/Lead with myself as the Assigned User, I do automatically become a follower.
      • However, this does not happen with Quotes/Invoices/Sales Orders, where everything works as expected.

    Is there an additional setting to completely disable auto-following new records?

    I have also come across an issue with automatic Following of records. Its not the exact same as yours but maybe if someone could take a look at this post there is a similar solution. I notice that when a Portal user creates Case, they automatically follow that case. But if they send in support request via email to support@mycompany.com the CRM automatically creates a Caes and knows it is associated with that contact, but it doesnt make them automatically follow it so they dont get notifications about updates.

    Case created in Espo portal = contact automatically follows it
    Case created via email = contact has to manually click follow on the case
