User get's email notifications for random records

Thanks for still checking, so this issue randomly happens, no idea why and how.

System configured to send notifications upon changes in the record (like opportunity), 95% of the time the CRM sends email only to the followers, which is fantastic.
However, sometimes random users that are not following the record (random record) are getting record update notifications.

Please advice, thanks

May be these users have a role with permission to view stream (team) for certain records and this might send email notifications to these users.

Can you describe examples and show some screenshots of when things like this happen? This will make it much easier to analyze the situation if it still bothers you.
