Category Tree & Grids For Entity

As the title says, is there any documentation or tutorial on how I could go about implementing a category tree or grid view for a new entity?

I'm looking to create a sales forecast module whereby users can input potential sales for the year categorized by months.

No tutorial as far as I'm aware of, you have to dig into the Documents entity and see how it is done (require coding skill). You can also have a look at AstroPIM or AstroCore (a project based on EspoCRM) where they create Tree like for other entity too.

Grid view I think is only available on the extension pack
