Notifications not working v 5.4

    Notifications not working v 5.4

    I upgraded to version 5.4 last night and have noticed that the notifications are no longer working like before.
    The bell icon does not light up with a number and I am no longer receiving emails on post in the stream by default unless I tag the person even though they are a follower on the account. I confirmed the notification settings also.

    Please advise.
    Post made in stream John is the assigned user and follower

    Hi Kim,

    Could you check log please?

    I tried a few upgraded instances and couldn't reproduce.

      Note, that you don't see notifications about posts you created. Only for posts made by other users.

        I understand that I will not get a notification about my own post.

        John is the assigned user of the account and a follower, if I make a post on that account he should receive an email notification correct?
        The system sent an email to Marie who is also a follower but did not send an email to John
        Could it be a role permission issue? Although I never changed anything prior to the upgrade or after.

          Does John has an a read and stream access to that account record?

            Here are the permissions for team "Callers" with Role of "Caller" - This was Not changed from before or after the upgrade when we noticed it was not working as before.

            Assignment Permission is intentionally set to team so that they can not tag users outside of their team.

              I could reproduce. This happens if read access = team or own. I will look into.

                Will be fixed in 5.4.2.
