Outlook 365 Account - IMAP Enabled?

I'm having trouble getting a successful connection with outlook email addresses via using both outlook 365 / imap.outlook host name, along with app passwords and ensuring that IMAP is enabled on our account. I'm starting to think there may be an issue on ESPOCRM side, but is there a way to enable logs and see exactly what the error is caused from trying to login to a specific email account to our CRM? Right now, we're just getting incorrect login error - hard to understand if this is server side or espocrm, thanks.

Unfortunately, the ability to work with Outlook via app password ceased to be relevant some time ago. And without using the Outlook Integration extension, you will not be able to work with Outlook.

Is that a Microsoft issue or a EspoCRM? It seems odd that we can use IMAP for any other mail server but if we're using microsoft outlook exchange server, it can't be used? Annoying!

This is not a problem for EspoCRM, because, for example, Gmail works perfectly both through app password and through the Google Integration extension.

That's so weird, but what do you mean by 'Outlook' - you mean Microsoft 365 Exchange Server? Because that's what I'm essentially meaning by outlook...not the actual program, just the service that we have our mail servers routed through.

This refers to all the policies, rules and conditions for using Microsoft services in interaction with other services. And it is Microsoft that imposes a number of restrictions, especially security ones. At the same time, Microsoft does not even send emails/notifications, but simply posts an article according to some innovations in their functionality.

In the first post of this topic, you asked about app password and its use: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...xchange-online.

Doesn't EspoCRM support OAuth? Should that allow us to enable outlook via that service rather than paying for the extension? I am trying to see how to enable sending emails thru an email login with mail servers hosted via Microsoft thru EspoCRM somehow. I don't need to receive all emails or have it fully integrated with all features, just sending out emails.

As I wrote above, without using the Outlook Integration extension you will not be able to interact with Outlook via EspoCRM.
You can register a free 30-day Espo Cloud with the Outlook Integration extension installed.
Then configure this integration according to the documentation: https://docs.espocrm.com/extensions/...on/setting-up/.
And test this functionality to see how much it suits you.
            Working...
