Is EspoCRM a good fit for my needs?

I plan to hire a marketing team to generate leads, which will then be passed on to the sales team for conversion. I want to track the entire process through a CRM, with the ability to define specific roles and permissions for each user.

Could EspoCRM be a good option for my needs? Also, do I need any extension packs for this purpose? Thanks!

I would say definitely yes espocrm is a good fit for sales management.
Second question, if you wish to track everything meaning you would need reporting, get the Advanced Pack (powerful extension) for it is a required component to automate your process and get insights (reporting) on everything in your system.

I see. Does ESPO offer any free basic reporting? What can I expect from the free version, if anything? Or is the advanced pack mandatory for reporting?

          Hi looper,

Reports are a feature of the Advanced Pack extension: https://www.espocrm.com/extensions/advanced-pack.

You can check out the live demo of EspoCRM here: https://demo.espocrm.com.

And you can also register your own trial cloud instance (free for 1 month), where you can try out the various features that EspoCRM offers: https://www.espocrm.com/cloud-registration.

iirc, the Advanced Pack used to be a one-time payment, but now it seems to be an annual subscription. Am I missing something?

Also, does the free version not offer any reporting at all?

              looper,

Currently, the license for any paid official extension must be purchased/renewed every year or every two years depending on the selected license period. And, as previously clarified, reports are exclusively a feature of the Advanced Pack extension.
