Item pretty much saying. Dark like his deep black eyes.
White when he was still a young innocent boy that look upward to the sun.
Finally that he hope some menu is set to the right side; Entity menu which is available on the left side, or optional up top. He want right side.
Personally I voted dark, but I think for EspoCRM keeping the default White/Light is best for the general public. Just don't kill dark theme style.

Science-wise, dark text on light background (like a regular book) is best for your eyes long term. Think pupil dilation spasms for dark mode, going from looking up in the light to back in the dark, unless you live and code in the dark
I would put in for "no grey anywhere" but that's just me, I prefer bold labels and struggle reading gray anything (as do some colorblind fiends) so very happy with the LIGHT theme and truly black text.
[Product manager hat on], I wouldn't follow a trend so much as standard optic behavior, which will not change, in addition to color-blind, ADA, etc. allowing the user to adjust the colors would be the best outcome.
Maybe just offer bottom CMYK colors for the side menu, and you get to choose either white or black text, Add a timer (like Windows display change) reset in case they choose white/yellow etc. by mistake, and you are done.
Then you are out of the theme business for the duration.
Just a thot.Comment

Thanks for input.
The ability to pick theme colors for a user would be nice but there's an issue that we still have multiple colors in-between. These colors are stored in CSS variables. E.g. the primary button color has different shades on mouse hover or click. Applying the same shade in different color schemes is tricky, e.g. for one color we need to make it 10% darker, for another color -- just 5% so that an average eye percept them as balanced. Though there were some additions in CSS recently in regards of colors which may be helpful for us in the future to strip shade color variables and calculate colors in runtime.

Oooh wow yes little bit (aka a lot) involved! Thanks so much for the elaboration, I love to learn of the details!
The shading nuisance is awesome. One of the reasons I picked EspoCRM, so much more attractive to use.
I wonder if something can be done adding / CSS # for transparency? Maybe you can get rid of having to name the actual color?
Seriously, no idea if this is right but looking up "opacity: 0.5" I wonder if that can substitute so no matter what color for formula e.g. all colors/objects are default/no formula to start then, hover 0.6, disabled 0.3, etc.
It's top of mind because I use it a lot to save ink for printing, a white box @ 80% so I can still read the text, or 60% is text is small...etc. when given a blank/blue background on a presentation, etc.
