The most annoying feature in mailing ever invented imho! I configure my email clients standard to ignore ANY request for a read receipt. It's so harassing and intrusive, it's no one's business when and if I read any message.

In business, it is sometimes very important to know whether to be read by the recipient email.

This can be implemented by embedding an image (e.g. merely a pixel will do) to track if a user opened a message. This doesn't bother the reader. A popup "send read receipt?" does bother the user. Sorry for being a fanatic about it, but I find it really very annoying.
