New Internal Chat Extension for EspoCRM (Private Messaging + Groups)

Hey everyone! 👋

Excited to share a big update to Chat CRM Plus. The new version has been completely overhauled with a ton of features requested by
the community.



Here's everything that's new:

✏️ Message Actions
- Edit messages — edit your own messages after sending (shows "edited" tag)
- Delete messages — soft-delete with a "This message was deleted" placeholder
- Reply to messages — quote a specific message in your reply
- Mark as unread — flag a message to come back to it later

📌 Organization
- Pin messages — pin important messages to the top of any room
- Starred messages — personal bookmarks across all rooms, accessible from the sidebar
- Forward messages — forward any message to one or more rooms

😀 Reactions & Mentions
- Emoji reactions — react to messages with a quick-pick emoji bar (toggle on/off)
- @mention autocomplete — type @ to get a live suggestion list of room members, supports @all
- My Mentions view — dedicated inbox showing every message that mentioned you, with one-click navigation to the message in context

🔕 Notifications
- Mute rooms — silence notifications per room (right-click a room to toggle)
- Busy status — set yourself as busy to suppress all notification sounds

📎 File Attachments
- Upload any file via the paperclip button
- Inline image preview for photos and screenshots
- File chips with icon, name and size for documents, PDFs, etc.
- Drag & drop files directly onto the chat area
- Paste screenshots with Cmd+V / Ctrl+V directly from clipboard

Hi everyone,

After working extensively with EspoCRM in real business environments, I noticed that many teams still rely on external tools (WhatsApp, Slack, email) for internal communication — even when they spend most of the day inside Espo.

So I decided to build a lightweight internal chat extension directly inside EspoCRM.




Features:

• Private 1-to-1 messaging between users
• Group chats
• Clean and modern UI
• Fully integrated inside Espo (no external service required)
• Real-time feel (without being heavy)
• Online/Away/Offline Status

The idea is simple:
Keep team communication inside the CRM where the work actually happens.


In our case, switching between tools was:

• Slowing down workflows
• Losing context
• Creating unnecessary friction

This extension keeps conversations internal and connected to daily operations.
