Hi, there appears to be an issue when using custom relationships between Emails and another Entity.
Issue:
When adding a custom relationship between Emails and another entity, such as Opportunities for example, regular users cannot update the field in Emails but Admins can.
Steps to replicate:
*pre-requisites*
- Need an Admin user
- Need a Regular user
- A role which grants access to Emails and Opportunities (permissions to yes/all)
- Regular user in said Role
- A custom many-to-many relationship between Email and Opportunity
- Add the new field to the Side Panel Fields layout on Emails and Opportunties
- An Email and an Opportunity record to use for testing
1. As the regular user, login and navigate to Emails entity and click into the email record
2. Edit the record and select the Opportunity in the relate field
3. Click Save
Outcome:
The record saves successfully but the relate field clears itself
Expected:
The record to save and the relate field to remain populated and linked to the Opportunity
Additional Info:
If you repeat these steps with an Admin user or make the Regular user an Admin they can set the relationship and save as expected.
Also if you set the add the Email relate field to the Opportunity layout and have a regular user set the relationship on the Opp side it works as expected.
