error after upgrade

I upgraded from an older version of 5 to the latest and I'm getting the following error: [09-Jan-2023 21:51:01 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ">= 8.0.0". You are running 7.2.34.

Now I confirmed the server is running php 8.0. Any ideas?

check the current domain/project if it is running on php version 8. not sure of your server but just trying to help.

I actually forced the domain to use the 8.0 version of php by making it the default on the server. After this I got a "Configure apache" page by setting mod rewrite rules etc.. After I did that I got a blank white page instead of the 500 server error, however the error logs are still showing the same error..."You are using php verions 7.2 and you need 8....
