Try to upgrade your instance in the following way:
1. Download appropriate package:

https://www.espocrm.com/download/upgrades

2. Execute command from the EspoCRM root directory:
sudo php upgrade.php /path/to/upgrade/package.zip

I'm trying to upgrade an old installation where I made some major code changes, but I can't get the upgrade to start, can anyone help me...
