We are a transport company and one of our competitors has went out of business today. This has presented an opportunity, however it is proving difficult as we have not looked in to the particular functionality that I am about to detail

Ideally, I would like to add a new field to the Lead section
A panel where I can list all of our competitors, and the sales rep can select each of the companies that the lead uses.

Going forward, this would allow us to search for the company and bring up any leads who use them.

Is this possible?

you can create a competitor entity (type of company) and then create a many-to-many relationship between the new competitor and lead entities so this way the user can select multiple competitors for a lead and this will allow you to search for leads by competitors.
