  • "Send Mass Emails" cron vs "Max number of emails sent per hour" setting

    Hi!

We are using Amazon SES and planning to send mass email campaigns using EspoCRM.

We have read the documentation but are confused with the frequency that emails are sent: "Send Mass Emails" cron vs "Max number of emails sent per hour" admin setting (inside Administration > Outbound Emails > Mass Email panel).

    Our questions are:
    1. What's the difference between these 2 functions? (cron vs setting).
    2. How do we know the "speed" (frequency) that emails can be sent using Amazon SES as SMTP server?
    3. What would be the appropriate setup between these 2 functions (cron and setting) for them to work correctly?
    Thanks!

    Hi Pablo,

    - What is located in Administration -> Outbound Emails -> Max number of emails sent per hour is actually responsible for the number (quantity) of emails that can be sent per hour (screenshot 1).
    - And what is in Administration -> Scheduled Jobs -> Send Mass Emails -> Scheduling defines frequency of job runs (screenshot 2).

That is, the first option is responsible for ensuring that you do not send too many emails at once, and the second for how often it should be done. To understand this more clearly, try different variations of these options to choose your optimal quantity and frequency.

All other speed, quantity and time of sending depends on the capacity of your server, on configurations on the side of the email provider (Google or Outlook, for example). Well, of course, you specify additional launch conditions in the settings of your Campaign and Mass Emails.
