Format the Phone Number with Spaces? Formula or Workflow or?

Client would like to see this 949 222 3433 or this (949) 222 3433 instead of this 9492223433

Has any one encountered a way to reformat the phone field?

Haven’t you tried the preferred telephony country codes already available in the settings?

That only shows up when you check "international" this company is only US based so never saw this option.
So you are saying to check it and it will format all phone numbers to US format?

Following up, works fine but never would have seen this hidden field, may want to no hide it an rename "Auto Phone Format"?

Also, now every Record created before this setting now gives an error "Invalid Country Code" and will no let you save it until you add it when it doesn't really add you need to create a new entry in some cases so if possible to ignore existing records, but maybe not, so just FYI you cannot save otherwise once you open an old record

We have about 400 records so far.

Also the field that is short 10 #'s gives an error, so it's good it catches incomplete #'s that have already been entered when someone opens and saves

Maybe in the future a way to run a report or gap results when this switch is flipped mid stream
