Unnamed Attachments : What are these and how they are created?

    Hi,

I noticed that in my EspoCRM there are unnamed attachments that consumes a lot of disk space.
Can these be deleted? How are they being created and is there a way to prevent this?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Triggerz,

Go to the parent of one of the attachments and see what it might be. Usually such attachments are related to emails.

UPD: You can also view the type of these attachments by clicking on one of them.

Hi lazovic, some of them have no parent while the rest are from emails. The attachment itself is named as "unnamed" and it has no file extension.

99% of these are files from emails that were imported into your instance. Such files are often found in emails that are invitations to some meetings, automatic replies from your server or your address server, etc.

      Triggerz,

Each attachment will indicate its type if you click directly on the "unnamed" word. You can see an example of such an attachment on the screenshot:

Is it safe to delete these unnamed attachments with no file extensions?

Nothing bad will happen except deleting these files. And they will not be available in imported emails.
      Working...
