Don't Automatically Fill Up the Collaborators Field when creating a new record

Is it possible to not automatically assigned the current user creating the record to the Collaborators field when creating a new record?

Thanks yuri, I hope this can be considered in the future. The reason is so that I can clearly separate the owner of a record vs the collaborators when extracting data for reports.

I recommend to move the logic to reports instead. The collaborators feature was designed for the specific use-case.

Or maybe consider having another custom link-multiple field. Then, using a workflow rule or formula, sync collaborators with this field. The collaborators will establish user's access. The field will represent your business need. The collaborators field will be read-only and hidden.
