Impact of deleting contact, or updating

    Hi!
Just checking for opinion on how you manage contacts.
Let's imagine an old contact does not work for the same organization anymore and you are not yet or not interest to be in contact with the new organization,
=> can you delete entirely that contact? what is the negative impact on your history of activities in the CRM? will everything disappear? Let's imagine we had that first organization in a target list, it would be a pity if this is completely deleted from the records of addressing this company just because that single contact was deleted...

    how do you handle that?

should we just make the email invalid, remove the organization name and indicate in the description "no longer works at ..."?

Happy to hear any suggestion or example of how you handle that!

    Cheers,

    Hi,

I don't delete contacts at all, it is beneficial to keep a contact which is no longer active in a company as a way of keeping history of data in the system. You can mark those contacts as inactive and then use front end to block access or disabled modification/update until further notice or even use dynamic logic to achieve same.

should we just make the email invalid, remove the organization name and indicate in the description "no longer works at ..."?

Yes or consider having some sort of a state on the contact a Boolean (active/inactive).

    Thanks
