    email parsing with AI

Hello to the ESPO CRM developers!

I've noticed a common issue when working with emails in the ESPO CRM system – emails are not always assigned to the correct entity. Additionally, clients often reply to previous correspondences instead of starting a new thread, further complicating proper communication assignment. How do you handle this, and am I the only one facing this challenge?

Perhaps AI tools could assist by contextually assigning emails to the appropriate entity or creating a new record. What are your thoughts on this?

I've been thinking about such a tool since years back. Not only emails, but anything. Maybe accessed by formula functions. A network learns in idle on internal data, then a function will test an input to determine a group it is closer to.
If you find EspoCRM good, we would greatly appreciate if you could give the project a star on GitHub. We believe our work truly deserves more recognition. Thanks.

For me the mail allocation is the biggest issue for now. ChatGPT models are working quite well with text interpretation, so the first step could be mail and all the rest are more than welcome.

I'm not sure CharGPT is suitable here. I'm not a specialist though. I wouldn't consider to invest resources into this at the moment. What if only 1% of users will use it, but too much effort will be spent for implementation and further maintenance.

          > so the first step could be mail and all the rest are more than welcome.

Doing it for only mail would be 90% of work. BTW you could try implementing it too. Implementing for in-house use is a much easier task than implementing for a product.

            > have you considered any other package/ai tool instead of chatgpt ?

I really work too much. AI is a trendy thing. Big companies incorporate it for a marketing purpose. They will have resource to maintain a feature even if it turned out as not useful. We cannot. We'd better wait and utilize ideas that have proven themselves.

We considered Marketplace for long. But personally I'm not a big fun. I'm sure there will be a lot of broken systems, and users will associate problems with EspoCRM since they purchased an extension from our website, they will expect it working. Even now we face this problem.

You are right, AI is used now as a fancy tool by big companies. I just wanted to know what you had in mind for years as you mentioned above

            > I've been thinking about such a tool since years back. Not only emails, but anything. Maybe accessed by formula functions. A network learns in idle on internal data, then a function will test an input to determine a group it is closer to.

For the marketplace, maybe have some process to allow only developers that pass some threshold to sell on your marketplace. The idea is drive more people to a one place where they can find anything to enhance their espocrm instances and help support your team by earning fees on sales. There will be always an unhappy customer no matter what but if the percentage of those unhappy is low that should be a win.

The amount of unhappy customers has been very low. We used to it.

It's been being tedious to put together our few official extensions to ensure some multi-version compatibility. With market place I believe we'll have to take into account 3rd party extensions too. I know that some product companies put a huge amount of resources into that.
