Adding and Editing multiple records in List View

    Hi,

Will it be possible on future release to have a feature where we can add and edit multiple records directly in the List View?

One use case for this is when we are creating BOM (Bill of Materials) where we need to add all the items (oftentimes by the thousands) that we will be using for each BOM.

It will be a lot easier if there is a way to search and multi-select all the items that we need from a modal form to be added to the BOM.

We also need to update the list of items in terms of quantity, price and other info and it will be easier if we can do the updating directly on the List View.

Hoping this will be considered in future release.

    Thanks much...

I am not sure if this will be considered as this is a business unique process. If i understand you are stuck when creating a form (record) and want to add related records during the creation of the record. If that is what you want actually with some code you can achieve this exposing a relationship panel on the creation form.

It will be a lot easier if there is a way to search and multi-select all the items that we need from a modal form to be added to the BOM. (Once you have the relationship panel exposed on the creation form / edit view then you can do mass selection - you can apply filter automatically or manually etc)

      Hi Rabi,

Thanks for your response. That is correct. I need a functionality similar to the Sales Pack where the following entities are present:

Products : Serves as a masterlist of products
      Quote : The parent entity
Quote Item : The child entity. Contatins a list of Products that were selected from the Products entity.

When adding records in Quot Item, there is a modal form that displays the records from Products entity. This allows me to select which products I wanted to add in the Quote Item entity.

Not sure how to properly do this with the relationship panel. What types of relationship should I created between the Parent Entity, Child Entity and Masterlist Entity?
Hope you can guide me on how to create this.

      Thanks in advance...

If you want similar experience from the Sales Pack you would need to write code and it i snot easy task. I would advise you to buy the Sales Pack as it is beautifuly designed and it will work as you want. you can disable other entities you don't use. Also it is a support for the amazing espocrm team. Please consider it.
