Complex condition with "AND" and "OR"

If in workflow conditions there are mix of ANDs and ORs then how do they group ? There is no brackets that would tell which set goes together.

Most likely, you are using some custom Theme in Administration > User Interface, which was pre-installed using an unofficial EspoCRM extension. I personally checked on each of the official Themes - and the interdependence of the AND and OR blocks there is quite clear and understandable (especially on darker Themes).

Thanks for the pointer. Further analyses show that the issues is with Extension v3.11.12 and EspoCRM v8.3.4. Same Extension version works ok with EspoCRM v9.1.7
