  • Outlook: once a day user names (first and last name) are deleted

    Dear All,

we have purchased the Outlook integration pack and running it successfully. The only issue we have is, that it seems to delete the user first name and last name - not of all users - from time to time, maybe even daily. The "Gender" field is also empty. I haven't figured out exactly in which pattern this happens.
You cannot delete and save first and last name in the GUI, so it must be a cron job.

    This is our setup:

Name:	image.png
Views:	22
Size:	80.9 KB
ID:	112044

    This is an example user:

Name:	image.png
Views:	18
Size:	30.6 KB
ID:	112045
I suspect that it has something to do with a cron job. There is one job running called "Espo\Modules\Outlook\Classes\App\JobRunner", which is executed daily in the night.

Does anybody know how to resolve this issue?

    Thanks in advance,

    best regards

    Georg

    Hi gzangl,

Please note that the Outlook Integration extension is not related to the authentication settings in EspoCRM. Outlook Integration extension only affects the connection to the Outlook mail server, calendars and contacts.

You have configured synchronization in the authentication section of your EspoCRM instance. If the user on the Outlook side does not have a gender or no name, then everything is synchronized in EspoCRM in this way. Perhaps you should add scopes for gender and name.

      Dear lazovic,

thanks a lot for the suggestion. We have user names (First Name, Last Name) defined in MS Entra ID, and I will try to create a scope. The weird thing is, that even if I enter user's First Name and Last Name manually and save it, it is deleted later (next day) by the system. Entering these data once is not a big deal, but it becomes tedious to repeat this daily.

Update a few hours later: in the meantime my "First Name" and "Last Name" has again disappeared in the database. Even if this is due to a synchronization, it is not a good practice to delete data without any trace. Couldn't find any hint in the logs.
I have also looked into creating a scope, but this is above my pay-grade. I just wanted to configure a CRM for my company. Scope files are all over the place and there is no simple instruction how to add a scope to the OIDC authentication. I'm not a software developer. This is overwhelming, sorry.

Help would be appreciated, especially as I can't believe that this is a normal behavior for a vanilla OIDC connection.

      Thanks and best regards

      Georg
