Products quantity management

Hi,
How can i substract from the product quantity when using Quote Item. So when i add products to Quote (Quote Items) and enter the Qty of the product then i want to substracts the entered Qty from the product quantity, which is in the Product entity.

I need to trigger it when Quote Status is/ or changed to 'approved'.

Is it possible to do that without using workflow?

I think it's impossible to do that without using workflow, and even better use BPM.

shouldn't it be possible by using formula or adding a script?
for workflow and BPM i should have Advanced Pack which i don't have at this moment

You may try this, but for building complex logics is convenient to use BPM.
