Where can I find the documentation for Duplicate check on the "lead capture" page?

I was setting up an API entry point for Web-to-Lead and I noticed this check box for "Duplicate Check". I want to understands how the duplicate is checked, how it works, what are the constraints etc. I tried but I cannot find it very clearly in the documentation.

shalmaxb I checked the link.. it does not have what I am looking for. the page that you have linked explains how we can have custom duplicate checker. I want to know how the existing duplicate checker works.

Hi crmtesting,

When the Duplicate Check option is enabled in Lead Capture, a lead will not be created in EspoCRM if a lead with the same email address already exists.
