No Email notifications on event creation

It seems that email notifications are not sent on creation of a Task (or other type of event) even when users are setup to auto-follow all new events of that type.

I have put more details here but no input so far and I believe it to be a bug -

I tested assignment notification and it worked for Tasks.

My system definitely has an issue. Here are the results of my experiment that I ran this morning -

System Setup
ESPOCRM is running on a Windows Server
Chrome is used for the browser -


My Preferences

Process
Two people involved. One to initiate new tasks and one (myself) who is setup to auto-follow any new tasks
Test task created at 10:2 by Fred Bloggs – note only Fred Bloggs is a follower when the form is saved – by default I have not been added.


The next email notification event was run at 10:23. No email notification has been received at 10:23 when it should have. Nothing in spam. So I waited for the next scheduled notification just in case at 10:28. No emails were received then either.

Note: Weirdly email notifications are set for every minute but the log says every 5 – 7 minutes that it runs??


Conclusions……auto-follow events do not send an initial email, possibly because there seems to be a delay between the event (in this case a task) being saved and the follower being added.

I don’t know if this is related but why when I setup notifications for every minute does the system pick between 5 and 7 mins to run the process? Is my timing for notifications too fast – should I setup for every 10 mins?
