email is not saving after sent

Hi,

I'm trying to send email notification through code using the Sender tool provided.

As I've come across the file, the email is being set to status "Sent" after the function "send" but not saving the $email entity.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

The line that sets the status is on this line below:
