In Firms, you create an Integer Field Contract No with Default Value 1.

Write Workflow, Entity>Contract>Trigger- Creation, Update Target...

For Every Booking, add a Salary Date and write a workflow/formula to fix the salary date - either onward or return date or in between, etc

Suggest you use Month of either departure or return date to work out the salary for the month.
