Basic upgrade question

Hi, I just want to upgrade my 2.5 to 2.6. I presume its just a zip upload of the files via the administration area, but I select the file, its says 'uploading...' and I get no further. Could anyone clear this up for me? Many thanks.

Yes, you're right. Please check permissions for /data directory. It should be writable.
