Upgrade problem from 4.2.7 to 4.3.1 - 500 error

Have upgraded many times without issue but trying to upgrade from the versions listed. But I get a 500 error each time. There is nothing in the apache logs (no errors at all). And I looked here for espocrm logs (path=/opt/bitnami/apps/espocrm/htdocs/data) and found a series of log files but again, nothing related to the upgrade and nothing generated at the time the upgrade fails. All the log files relate to email errors related to malformed headers.

Any suggestions on what the problem could be?
