posix_getuid error on install

Hi, I'm getting this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function posix_getuid() in /home/public/espo/install/core/SystemHelper.php on line 163

My hosting provider asks why is this extension needed: "That's a pretty unusual extension to want in a web app (why does it care what its uid is?), so it's not included by default."
