on cPanel via Softaculous network error when saving preferences

Hi, I'd love to use espoCRM as I do like how great it looks. However I've beed struggling for many hours with the "network error" issue.
The app was installed on cPanel via Softaculous and seemed to launch well. I could add records of the deals. However the moment I attempted to touch preferences I got "network error". My first idea was to double check the files and folders permissions - all seemed to be as required by EspoCRM. Also the requirements admin pages in the app showed all in green.
So I removed the installation and even installed manualy without the Softaculous way. Tried the latest version and then even version 7 and 8. Always the same.
I run out of the ideas. Would you help please?

Have you checked your server's error logs? The "network error" is often vague. Common culprits are mod_security blocking the request or an incomplete PHP extension like GD or OpenSSL.
