Import Issue- Record ID Issue for Linked Records

Hi Everyone,

I'm really struggling to figure this out. When I export a CSV for a specific record, I get this (please see sceenshot).

One of the linked records (circled in Blue) uses the EspoCRM generated record ID.

Another linked record (circled in Red) uses a custom ID number I created.


How can use custom ID numbers for all export and imports instead of the EspoCRM generated record ID numbers?

I've been at this all afternoon, and I can't figure out how to make this work or even figure out why one entity behaves differently than another. By the way both entities in the circled examples here are "company entity" type.

Please tell me if I understand correctly that you want to replace all the EspoCRM generated records IDs in your instance with some custom ones?

No, I don't want to change all Espocrm generated record IDs. I suspect that would cause major problems in the system. I'm just curious why (in the screen shot above for the exported CSV) the cptcodedatasIds field is an EspoCRM generated ID record and the hospitalsIds field is another number I created. I must have changed something in the system at some point to enable this but I can't figure out what I did. Also, both of these entities are company entities and all settings are exactly the same.

If I can find a way to do this again, I will be able to import and export records using ID fields that are not EspoCRM generated record ID numbers. This makes it much easier to import large numbers of records that use record ID numbers common in the health care industry. Any thoughts? Thanks so much.

OK. I finally figured this out. I just created a new entity and imported all records with my chosen ID number in the "id" column. EspoCRM now uses that record ID as the system record ID number. Not sure if this could cause future problems but it's working so far.
