    I think you can customise the actionList()/getActionList() function in the controller of the entity to not load any items on load. I remember having some functionality like this in an old ESPO CRM system that I worked with.

      Unfortunately, I'm still hesitating to try it myself due to be reluctant to understand programming but it certainly is possible with a solution ready to go step-by-step.
