The date format on field display differs from the date format settings

Preferences. Not settings. Top-right corner > Preferences. Users can override the date format set in settings.

Thank you for responding. The settings for the field is shown in the screencap below. I tried changing to various format in the Settings option under administration but nione seem to work. There are only 2 areas where i can set the date format - Settings and Field. The same is happening to the standard meeting form. It appears that the settings is ignored. Please help.

I am using version 7.0.8. There seems to a problem with date formatting. I defined the date format in the setting as DD/MM/YYYY but what is displayed is dd.mm.yyyy. See screencaps below.
