More than 4 fields in a panel row

I'm actually looking to use Espo for something other than a CRM and my application will require many small fields.
To avoid having a very spread-out webpage, I'm wanting to possibly extend the present limit of 4 fields in any panel row, to something like 6 or 8..
Has anyone ever successfully done this? If so, could you point me in the right direction?

Many thanks. I can see some possible future uses for this extension.
However, I was hoping there were some relatively quick changes to a couple of script and css files, to expand from 4 to 6 (or 8) fields in a panel row.
