Is there a way to create a custom field entity that allows multiple entries, a bit like the email field where you can click the "+" button and add more entries?

They way I have found is to create a custom entity that is added to the bottom/relationship panel. Just wondered if there's a better way.

The multi-enum field can do that. You can have values pre-defined and ticking the custom option checkbox allows to enter whatever you want in the moment of using.

Those field (email and phone) are unique, you can't add it without coding. As far as I'm aware there isn't much of tutorial of it as well.

You can other option if you want to add in extra, the weakness is I don't think search work properly with it.

As above, you can use multi-enum, or use the array.
