Permissions for custom field

Hi, I have the following scenario:

- each contact has several users (portal user) assigned in an "information only" way
- for this I created a custom field on the contact using a type multilink
- the link is "information only" so anyone should be able to change it
- by default only the portal user itself seems to be able to link himself to a contact
- how can I change the priviledges so that anyone can change the linked contacts?
