Error 500: Could not open socket

Trying to make the e-mail function work but failing already at sending test E-mail.
Error 500: Could not open socket: stream_socket_client(): unable to connect to tcp://mail.xxx.com:25 (Connection refused)

I have entered the same input that I've used on my iPhone for using this e-mail account:
E-mail, Server, username, password.

What am I doing wrong?
