Adjust SMTP after email password reset

    Hi EspoCRM Team!

I had my personal email account (GSuite) working perfect with EspoCRM. However, today I had to change my email password from GSuite.

I already updated the credentials in EspoCRM personal account and did some successful tests (SMTP and IMAP).

However, when I try to compose or reply an email from EspoCRM, the following error appears:

"Error 500: 5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at, 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials f18sm5685435otl.18 - gsmtp"

I have checked the password, clear cache and rebuild EspoCRM. Don't know WHY if the tests are successful at the configuration panel, the emails are not being sent from the "Email" module.

Is there any other place I need to update the new password? Seems strange.

    Thanks a lot the help.

    SOLVED.

I had to update the password of my user at the preferences page.

What is the difference between the SMTP section at the preferences page vs. personal email account?

    Thanks.

      Hi,
this is due to the fact that the SMTP setting in the user's preferences is more prioritized in front of the Personal Email Account.
