Opening tabs in new windows

Is there a setting or preference setting that causes tabs to open in a new window? For example, if you click on a calendar item, it opens in a different window instead of going away from the calendar page itself.

As far as I know, there is no such function. If you want to open tabs in new windows, you may try to "open links in a new tab".
