default duration for call is 5 minute (if you create call from call list view) (you can change this value in Administration > Entity Manager > Call > Fields > Duration)
If you create an event in calendar, the default duration is cell size - in calendar 1 cell has 30 minutes

You can edit minutes as an input field for more precise timing.
