How to specify gateway criteria in flowchart?

I am trying to create a flowchart for a process, that needs to check certain conditions several times (e.g. before sending each email, check if the customer has not unsubscribed). I can't figure out, how to specify selection criteria for gateways. When I create a gateway, I only see two fields - "Text" and "Description"

Resolved. Additional fields appear after connections to more than one next step are drawn. Not obvious!

Getaway with less than two outgoing flows is not valid or treated as converging. How you can specify diverging criteria if there only one outgoing flow.

True, but hiding the fields is not the best UX solution. You may as well make them required or show a warning. Otherwise, users start looking for the place to set up conditions elsewhere.
