Unsubscribe link in normal emails

Hi, I hand craft a number of emails to prospects. In reality these are marketing emails so should really have an unsubscribe link on them.

How do I add an unsubscribe link to a normal email? I have tried {optOutLink} but it just comes through as that text, i.e. it is not substituted.

Have I missed something?

Is this email created in mass emailing or manually with Compose email?

The example above is the standard compose email. I am happy to use a different are of the product if needed. The thing is each email is unique, or possibly from a template. I am typically only sending one at a time.

If there is no automated way of doing it, can I create the link manually? I am more than happy to insert the HTML tags at the bottom of the email.

{optOutLink} and {optOutUrl} placeholders are parsed in templates only.
And you can not create this link without Mass Email
