Campaign Entities dont show up in Mass Email (Templates)

I've added a field "campaignNumber" as new entity in Campaign. I now try to have Mass Emails with that number inserted.

I added this {Campaign.campaignNumber} to the template, but that field not merged. I also tried {Campaign.assignedUserName} to test further and that is also not replaced with content.

How do I insert a campaign specific number in a mass Email?

Surely... it would have been good if the merge-field-insert selector that we use in templates only show the fields that are available. Right now it shows all fields where fast majority make no sense... I could make a Issue in Git for this ... ?

You could create email template for campaign as well and use it in Workflow for example. But in Mass Email this entity isn't used
