How to copy a custom field's value from Lead to Contact, when converting

Hello!

My marketing flow creates a new Lead whenever my web form is submitted. I then add details to that Lead when I speak to my new prospect, including his website, in the Website field.

When I convert a Lead, I convert to an Account, and to a Contact. After converting, the Website field has of course populated the Website field of the Account, but there is no Website field in Contact. So I added that field to Contact. I used the same settings for that field as the settings I found in Account, hoping that when I convert from a Lead, the Website field will be populated in Contact. But that doesn't happen... the Website field in Contact remains empty.

Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

Is the type of a newly created Website field in contact URL? And have you added this new website field in Layout Manager (in two places - Layout Manager => Contacts => Convert Lead and Layout Manager => Contacts => Detail)?

Ah... thanks scout19. I had changed the Contact layout in Layout Manager, but I didn't even see that's where we need to also add the field to "Convert Lead"... didnt see that. Thanks a lot!
