how to access ESPO_DIR/data/logs

I'm seeing Error 500 when trying to access a newly created entity. I'm also seeing Error 500 when I try to remove Contacts (it used to let me before but now it's not)

How do I access the error log so I can see what the error is about?
We are currently running EspoCRM through AWS

check apache error log (/var/log/apache2/error.log for linux) and check if Espo log dir is writable

what type of message am I looking for in the log? can you provide an example?
