Custom Entities of type base varchar field not a link

I have created a custom entity with a name field og type varchar.
The name field is not displayed as a link in list view. Is that a bug or is there a way to show a field as link pointing to the entity?

Hi,

In layout manager you can specify column to be a link.

Oh yes there is a little pencil on every field.. :-)
