    Extention pricing

I'm new here, but I want to point out one thing. After my brief testing, EspoCRM is great, and among the generally available open-source CRMs, it's very impressive. It lacks many features offered by paid CRMs. However, the prices of the functionality-enhancing packages are exorbitant. For five users (and Espo is positioned as a CRM for small businesses), the price of the extensions necessary for work is around 1000 euros, so it works out to around 20 euros per user per month. There are paid CRMs available on the market that are ultimately cheaper.

I don't know how the developers came up with their business model, but it doesn't work for small businesses that want to use extensions.

    Best regards,
    K.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the feedback.

Whether the model does work or not it's not that simple question.

If we count not 5 users but 10, and not 1000 EUR but 600 EUR (which is quite a typical check), the calculation will be quite different.

Conversely, there are similar products which succeed with far fewer features at a much higher price point. And their business model works. While dropping prices can just drag revenue down, making the project unsustainable.

Small business is 10-50 users. 5 users is a very small business. If we speak only about CRM features, where only sales and marketing teams have seats, usually 1-2 extensions is enough.

It can feel pricey for some, it's OK. But it's not necessary to purchase all extensions. It's also OK to pick another product.

Many opt to self-hosted not because of cheap price but for other reasons, like data privacy, availability, customization, predictable low cost of future scaling.
